October is a busy time of year for those involved in the fall play. One of the biggest adjustments with this year’s fall play is the change of directors. The Counselor Family has directed the past few shows; however, this year’s production of Clue is being managed by Arts and Drama teacher, Linda Deal.
Deal shared her excitement with many students involved in fall play., “I love the process of the show.” Deal said. “I love seeing the students take ownership of their show and the sense of pride of working hard on something and seeing the outcome.” Deal discussed her expectations as well. “Each show brings its own challenges, mood, and energy. I look forward to each show and I can’t wait to see what we do next,” Deal said.
Bailey Wichart, 11, shared her excitement for the play. “I’m really excited to work on the sets because they are so intricate and there is so much that needs to be done,” Wichart said. “So I’m hoping for a good outcome”. Wichart spoke about her experiences in the past with helping out with stage crew and being in the cast. She shares her enthusiasm about helping out with the crew for this show once more. “I’m really excited to get to work alongside such amazing people.”
Wichart shared her experiences with Deal as well, having shared her interests in this show. “I am so excited to get to work with her more, she is sweet but stern when she needs to be. I am very excited to have this opportunity to work closer with her,” Wichart said. However, she isn’t the only one enthusiastic about working closer with Deal.
Ariella DiFabio, 11, also shares her excitement about working closer with Deal as a stage manager. DiFabio said “I’m excited to have a director who has a past in design and many years of theater experience to help guide the stage crew.” DiFabio then discussed her hopes for the show, and said, “Clue has a lot of turns, which is natural for a mystery, and I’m excited to see them displayed in the acting as well as their integration into the set.” She elaborates by talking about her expectations for the show. “My hope is that the students’ and directors’ hard work both on and off the stage shines through and makes a fun and memorable experience for everyone.”
